We use to provide pre-loaded iPods but iTunes has changed such that if we load a device (iPod, iPhone or iPad) for you from our computers, then you will not be able to change or update the content. So, now we recommend the following:
1. Load your desired device (iPod, iPhone or iPad) yourself. That way, you'll be able to add more content such as other apps, photos, videos, music, etc. We provide very detailed instructions, and literally thousands and thousands of people--including technology novices--have loaded their own.
2. If you wish to purchase an iPod and send it to us for loading, then we do provide a loading service for $59.00. Yes, you'll still need to purchase birdJam Maker and the desired song CDs. Then, you'll send the iPod to us, and we'll load it for you. If you are interested, send an email to support@birdjam.com and we'll send instructions about how to get started.
3. If you have an iPhone or iPad, we really really recommend that you load birdJam to the device yourself. You've purchased a great little device, and you need to take advantage of that investment by being able to load lots of content!
Background: Content is loaded to an iPod via iTunes, Apple's free music management system that runs equally well on Mac or Windows computers. If you load your own iPod, then you'll use iTunes on your computer to do the formatting and loading of your iPod.
If we do the loading, then we'll attach your iPod to one of our computers (Mac or Windows--whichever you specify), and load your iPod via iTunes on one of our computers. Remember that if we load it for you, you won't be able to add/change content on the device. |
