The birdJam Maker Software, Eastern North America, is what you need to create your own birdJam iPod, if you already have an iPod and the Stokes East CDs.

birdJam Maker makes it fast and easy to find bird songs on your iPod! It splits tracks so every bird species is visible on your iPod, adds definitive bird photographs, removes narration and creates intuitive playlists that are alphabetic, taxonomic (the order in your field guide), habitat (such as fields and forests) and species (such as sparrows and warblers). We're birders too, so we really thought this through to make it as simple yet as useful as we possibly could!

The vivid photographs (one per species, generally male in breeding plummage--because that's who is usually singing!) are linked to the bird songs so the photograph automatically appears when you select the bird species. There is no need to keep tapping through multiple commands. Just select the bird you want and you'll have instant sound and photograph.

Set "Repeat" on your iPod, and the same bird song will keep playing and playing until you manually move it to the next bird species.

Plus, birdJam Maker formats and organizes the bird songs and photos in iTunes to make it easy to create custom playlists in iTunes and sync them to your iPod. Or, just use the "On-The-Go" playlist creator on your iPod to instantly create a playlist to respond to immediate needs.

Available for both Windows and Mac. There is a current incompatibility between birdJam Maker and MAC OS X 10.8+ (Mountain Lion). Our technology group is aware of the problem but doesn't currently have a fix. birdJam Maker will NOT open if you are running Mac OS X 10.8+. We hope to have it fixed soon, and apologize for the delay.
