This is a good speaker for 2nd Generation iPod Touch and it provides excellent sound for birding. It is smaller and lighter than the iMainGo2. However, it is not as loud as the iMainGo2, due to the smaller speaker size, and it is not quite as clear at the very bottom of the range.

If you're looking for something that will protect your 2G iPod Touch and play bird songs with decent volume, this is your choice!
