This is an add-on module for birdJam Maker that adds support for the Cornell Laboratory of Ornithology's "Voices of Costa Rican Birds: Caribbean Slope," CD set by David L. Ross, Jr. and Bret M. Whitney.
This module formats & organizes the bird songs, adding the following features:
- Removes bird species name narration from the beginning of each track.
- Adds scientific names of all birds.
- Standardizes naming for all birds, correcting errors and renaming bird song tracks so that they are consistently named and easy-to-find.
- Adds region-specific playlists.
- Photographs are NOT included.
The Cornell "Voices of Costa Rican Birds: Caribbean Slope" CD set includes songs and calls for 220 commonly-heard birds as well as less-frequently heard specialties. The new birdJam Maker for Costa Rica creates a separate track for each bird, eliminates species name narration, and installs new iPod playlists for rapid access of any species. This is a "must-have" two-CD set for birders who plan to visit Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve's Penas Blancas Valley; Parque Nacional Braulio Carrillo; Parque Nacional Cahuita; Parque Nacional Tortuguero, and other locales, including any Costa Rican rainforest. Many birds on this set also can be found on the Pacific Slope.

Available for both Windows and Mac. There is a current incompatibility between birdJam Maker and MAC OS X 10.8+ (Mountain Lion). birdJam Maker photos will NOT load if you are running Mac OS X 10.8+. But, if you are syncing to an iPod Touch, iPhone or iPad, go ahead with your birdJam Maker install and then load the birdJam App and you should then have the photos (and range maps and songs). We hope to have it fixed soon, and apologize for the delay.
birdJam Maker for Costa Rica is an add-on module to birdJam Maker. If you are ordering a pre-loaded birdJam iPod, we'll automatically load it onto the iPod for you. If you are installing the module yourself, you'll unlock your new module by entering the module serial number into the Serial Numbers page which can be accessed via the File Menu in birdJam Maker.
