SEPTEMBER, 2007 NEWSLETTER

Note: Sorry about the boring format of this newsletter, but our resident house finches got in the back of the studio and devoured the original.

Dear birdJammers,

More Photos Available: We are delighted to announce that we are in the process of acquiring, editing and formatting, and making available photos for the entire North American (East and West) birdJam bird song library. And not just any photos! We are working with famed bird photographers Brian Small and Robert Royse to select photos specifically for their display of definitive field marks for rapid identification.

There are now 461 photos available for birdJam North America; 316 for birdJam Eastern and 372 for birdJam Western. We've doubled the number of available photos!

The Best Part: If you previously purchased the birdJam Common Bird Photo Collection, a download of the "More" Photo Collection is available FREE OF CHARGE. And as we add more photos this fall, downloads of those photos will be FREE OF CHARGE as well. All you need to do is go to www.birdjam.com/upgrade and enter your birdJam account email address and birdJam Maker serial number.

Pricing: If you have not previously purchased the photos, you can do so by going to the Online Store on our web site. The price is $19.99 for the North American Photo Set and $14.99 for either East or West. Click here: birdJam Photo Sets.

Photo Loading Service: If you do not wish to download the photos yourself and would like us to install the photos for you, we have a new iPod Bird Photo Loading Service for $20.00 plus shipping. However, you may wish to wait until the photo set is completed this Fall before using this service and shipping your iPod to us.

Photo Playlist Now Obsolete: Because we are making photos available for all birds, we have eliminated the separate "Photos" playlist from new birdJam purchases and are no longer updating it on current versions. So, if you download the "More" Photo Set, the Photo playlist will not be updated. Simply go to other playlists and many birds will have photos at this point.

View Photos Full Screen: As a reminder, to view the photos nearly full screen on your iPod, when a bird song is playing, just push the center of the click wheel two or three times to enlarge the photo.

Add Your Own Photos to birdJam: With nearly 30% of birdJammers taking bird photos, we're betting you might like to add your own to your birdJam iPod. Just open iTunes, and select and play a specific bird song. Notice the "Now Playing" box in the lower left corner of iTunes with the dashed line insert box: "Drag Album Artwork Here." All you need to do is select the desired photo from your Pictures files, the internet or other source, and then drag-and-drop it into the Now Playing box. Next time you sync your iPod with iTunes, the new photos will download.

New Song Collections: We are also hard at work on revising birdJam Maker so that you can easily add new song collections for international locations, insects, frogs, etc. We anticipate having these collections available before the holiday season, so you may wish to add a new collection to your Holiday Wish List! We'll let you know as development progresses.

As always, please let us know if you have any comments or suggestions at our contact us page. If you'd rather pick up the telephone, call us on 1-800-403-5524 ext #1.

With best wishes and many thanks, Denese, Jay and Charlie
