On Windows, yes, you must first delete the version that is installed on your computer, and then download and install the latest version from www.birdjam.com/upgrade.
You do not need to delete the prior version before re-installing birdJam Maker on a Macintosh. Just copy over the birdJamMaker folder in the Applications folder.
To delete the prior version of bidJam Maker on Windows, just go to your computer's Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs, and remove the current version of birdJam Maker. Now you can download and install the latest version.
Note that, by default, whenever you open birdJam Maker, it will automatically check to see whether there is a newer version available for download. However, you can turn this feature off in birdJam Maker's preferences.
