If you get the following message on a preload birdJam iPod:
Updating to iOS 4.1 (or 3.1.3) will delete all media, including iTunes Store purchases. To preserve your media, apply this update on the computer where you sync music, videos, and photos.
Updating on this computer will only preserve apps, contacts, calendars, text messages and other settings. Please do not interrupt the update, which may take an hour or longer to complete. iTunes will verify the software update with Apple.
This message means that you will lose all of your bird songs! The only solution is to reload the iPod from scratch, meaning that you will need to load the Stokes CDs to your copy of iTunes and then run birdJam Maker to update all the songs before you can re-sync your songs to your iPod.
