We are very interested in selling to Canadian birders, so we have developed some policies that enable us to serve you without causing undue hassle for either ourselves or you.
However, to save money and time, you might consider loading your own birdJam iPod instead of buying an iPod pre-loaded from us. To do this, buy an iPod and the Stokes CDs from a Canadian source and then download our birdJam Maker software to transform your iPod into a birdJam iPod.
Okay, onward...
Here’s how our shipping works when sending a birdJam iPod to Canada:
- We use the U.S. Postal Service (Canada Post) to ship to Canada. USPS/Canada Post prices are always lower than those of FedEx, so the price you are quoted for shipping at checkout will almost always be more than the price we charge on your credit card. (We use FedEx to determine shipping charges.) We charge the actual USPS/Canada Post price with a small handling fee, and, this is almost always less than the FedEx quoted charge.
- We have found that shipping time is between 10 and 15 business days from the time that we deliver the package to USPS, so please be patient. If you do not receive your package within 15 days, please send a message to support@birdjam.com or call us at 1-800-403-5524 ext #1. (If you’re in a hurry, you can build your own birdJam iPod using our birdJam Maker software! [smile])
- We usually head to the post office on Fridays, and you'll be notified by email when your package is shipped.
- Please note that you will be responsible for any Broker’s Fees, Duties and Taxes. These are not usually a problem since we ship by Post. However, please note that we will not refund a credit card if your birdJam iPod is lost in limbo in customs because you refuse to pay duty or taxes. We will, of course, refund the charge if the birdJam iPod is returned to us!
Oh, and did we mention that birdJam has bird names in French? But you only get French bird names if you load your own iPod. [grin]
