Call: Ruby-throats give both vocal and nonvocal sounds. The common call is a squeaky chit or chitit, given during interactions and accompanied by wing hum. More complex calls occur during aggressive chases. The pendulum arc display is accompnied by buzzy wing hum and high-pitched twittering.
